The Royal Palace in Oslo, or Slottet in Norwegian, was built as a royal place of residence in the mid 19th century. The Royal Palace is where the monarchy conducts their daily work, and also where the King and Queen live. The palace is only open to visitors in the summertime and visitors must follow a guided tour.
