The Bosphorus, also known as the Istanbul Straight, is the body of water that divides the continents of Europe and Asia. The straight is 31 kilometers long, and reaches a maximum width of 3,420 meters. The length of the straight is heavily populated, with Istanbul being knows as the city that straddle the two continents. Tours of the Bosphorus by boat are readily available.
